OLYMPIC silver medallist Shelley Rudman will be inspiring the county’s sporting heroes at an awards event to recognise the achievements of athletes, sports clubs, volunteers and coaches from across the county.
The 2006 Olympic silver medallist and 2012 Skeleton Bob World Cup Champion will be the guest speaker at this year’s Wiltshire and Swindon Sports Awards.
The top three nominees from all 13 categories will be invited to attend the event in September at the Steam Museum, in Kemble Drive, and will be hosted by former England rugby captain, Phil de Glanville.
Anyone can nominate an individual or organisation until the closing date of June 29 at 5pm.
Bernie Brannan, Swindon Council board director service delivery, said: “Some new categories have been added so even more people can be recognised for their hard work.”
Forms and criteria for the awards are at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/sportsawards
