TWO Swindon men are to face trial accused of arranging for household waste to be illegally exported to Brazil.
Julio Da Costa, 51, and Juliano Da Costa, 27, pleaded not guilty at the Old Bailey and will face trial in October.
They had run two companies now in liquidation and are alleged to have arranged the shipment, which was against OECD regulations.
The prosecution follows the discovery on a quayside in Brazil three years ago of 89 containers containing 15,000 tonnes of waste.
Brazilian authorities complained to Britain and said some of the waste was thought to be toxic.
