BOY BAND McFly is looking to shine a light on the mystery of a cuddly bear that has become a tour mascot.
The band’s members have taken to Twitter to look for the owner of the bear after it was given to them when they appeared at the Oasis last month as part of their Keep Calm And Play Louder UK tour.
During the gig, a fan gave the band a small bear that is dressed in black leathers, wearing sunglasses and holding a guitar.
In a picture posted on the social networking site, the bear is holding a cardboard banner that says ‘Preston 11-4-12’, which appears to be a reference to the location and date of a gig this week. The band performed at the Guild Hall in the northern town on Wednesday.
The bear has become a mascot of the tour and takes pride of place on the stage next to bass player, and winner of last year’s I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here, Dougie Poynter.
The band is now attempting to track down the owner of the bear as the stars would like to auction it off for charity, but want it to go to one of the fan’s choice.
A spokesperson for Live Nation, which is the organiser of the UK tour, said: “There has been a new member of the tour crew since Mcfly’s show in Swindon.
“He’s cute, cuddly and has had access to every part of the tour – including the stage.
“We’re on a mission to find out who accidentally left him behind.
“We’d like to track down the owner and ask permission to auction the bear to help raise money for charity.”
