SWINDON Pegasus Brass Band is holding a Spring Concert next week.
The band is the oldest established musical group in Swindon, with a heritage reaching back to 1907, when it was known as the British Railway Staff Association Band, rehearsing at the Mechanics’ Institute.
Since becoming a registered charity in the 1990s, the band has fundraised for other charitable causes.
It also runs a youth band, the Swindon School of Brass Training Band.
The Swindon School of Brass Training Band are always looking for people of all ages and abilities who would like to learn a brass or percussion instrument.
They provide free instrument hire and free tuition on Saturday mornings.
Their Spring Concert takes place on April 28 at St Philip’s Church, in Beechcroft Road, at 7.30pm, featuring The Swindon School of Brass Band Training Band who have recently undertaken their grade examinations.
Tickets for the concert are £5 (£4 for concessions) and are available by calling 01793 522440, visiting the band’s website at www.swindonpegasus.com or by calling Voluntary Action Swindon on 01793 539398 and asking for Hayley.
There will also be some tickets available on the door.
