A PARROT which escaped through a bedroom window at the weekend has been returned to his owner, thanks to Adver readers.
Laura Fairbridge, of Penhill, appealed through the paper yesterday for help finding the blue and gold macaw, called Indigo.
He was found in Redhouse yesterday and was returned to Laura, who said she was relieved to have him home.
“The response after Indigo was in the paper was amazing. I am so glad to have him back,” said the 20-year-old.
“He had flown all the way to Redhouse before being handed over to the RSPCA.”
Laura was moving back into her mother’s house in Penhill when Indigo escaped on Sunday.
He was spotted in Sevenfields at 8pm on Sunday but he them flew off again before he could be caught.
Laura notified vets and asked people across the town to keep an eye out through the paper and through Facebook.
“He says ‘hello’ and answers to his name, she said.
“He can say Indigo as well, he makes a lot of noises.
“The only way I found him in the tree on Sunday was by calling him and he answered back.”
Laura thanked everyone for their help getting Indigo back home.
