MICHAEL Jackson’s former bodyguard is heading to Los Angeles to get visitation rights for the singer’s youngest son Blanket.
Matt Fiddes, 32, who is from Swindon, claimed in 2010 he could be the biological father of the 10-year-old and in June he will be heading to America to launch a legal bid to see him.
The former Greendown School pupil was the singer’s UK bodyguard for 10 years and says he has no idea who is the father of Michael’s youngest son, but if it is him he wants to know.
He said he donated sperm on the advice of a doctor, who was recommended by the singer when he and his wife, Marcia, were having trouble conceiving.
A year later Matt had his first daughter Maddison and, shortly after, claimed that Michael offered him £500,000 for a second sperm donation, which he declined.
The martial arts expert, who has two other children, Lola and Savannah, said his youngest daughter was the spitting image of Blanket.
Matt said: “I am going to Los Angeles in June and I am going out there to try to get access rights to Blanket.
“If it is not granted then I am going to ask for DNA to be served.
“Michael is their father and I do not want that to change, but I want the children back in my life. The only way that’s going to happen is through legal action.
“I think Blanket is mine but I want final proof. Michael never confirmed to me, and I have never asked him, if Blanket is mine.”
Matt says that claims of him wanting custody of Blanket are false and he is not in it for the money.
“I think they are worried that I am after their money but all I want is access. I have my own business – I don’t need the money,” he said.
“My mum is dying of cervical cancer and my children are now asking about him.”
If Matt does get access he says he is hoping to bring Blanket to Swindon to see his family.
“I would love to have access to him two times a year,” said Matt, who has a chain of martial arts schools.
“I would bring him back to Swindon to see my family and my mum and also take him to see Mark Lester (the former child actor who starred in the film Oliver! and is now an osteopath in Cheltenham), who is his godfather.
“It is not about money, it is just about access. Michael Jackson is a big part of my life. All I want is access if he’s my child, to take him out, and spend some time together.”
