PROSPECT Hospice is calling on the people of Wroughton to come along to an evening session to find out more about the work of the local charity, and how they can do more to support it.
The information evening, at 7pm on May 9, sees members of the patient services and fundraising teams giving talks on the work of the hospice.
The evening will be looking at ways in which residents can support Prospect through setting up a support group and raising funds.
Patient services director Debbie Ho will be talking about the extensive services delivered by the hospice to patients and their families, and one of the hospice’s ambassadors will be speaking of their first-hand experience.
The fundraising team will be explaining how funds are raised, where they go and how supporters can help.
Finally the session will look at the benefits of starting a Wroughton Support Group and inviting people to join.
The evening will finish at 8.30pm with refreshments.
The head of fundraising, Sheryl Crouch, said: “If you enjoy raising money and think you might be able to spare time to fundraise within a local group, then we’re inviting you to come along and see what we do.
“We’ve asked people of Wroughton first because they are right on our doorstep, but we are also looking for anyone in the Swindon and North Wilts area who would like to set up a support group to get in contact.”
