FANS will get a chance to feel like champions as they can pose for pictures with the League Two trophy this weekend.

Swindon Town Football Club will host a party on the pitch on Sunday, May 6 to celebrate the successful 2011/12 season, which culminated in a 5-0 drubbing of Port Vale to win the championship.

Three bands will be adding to the atmosphere on the day with The Lightning Seeds headlining the 15,000 capacity event, while also appearing during the afternoon will be Toploader and Franc Cinelli.

The event has been designed to thank fans for their outstanding support during the campaign and to also stage the traditional end of season awards. The two side stands and pitch area will be open with a stage to be erected in front of the Stratton Bank.

Catering and refreshments will be available throughout the day and a special event programme, priced at £5, will be available to purchase.

Mark Isaacs, operations manager at the club, said: “Swindon Town FC, by putting on this prestigious event, are giving something back to the fans that have supported the club fantastically over the course of the season.

“It will be a fantastic event where the fans will be able to celebrate in style with the playing squad.

“There will be a number of fantastic prizes on offer as well and the chance to vote for the goal of the season with a fan given the opportunity to present the trophy to the player whose goal wins.

“There will also be a chance to have your picture taken with the League Two Championship trophy.”

Tickets are £5 for season ticket holders and for non-season ticket holders who present a Wembley stub or their Port Vale ticket at the STFC Box Office. General sale tickets are available at £10 per person.

Tickets are available in person from the STFC Box Office or via phone on 0871 876 1993.
