SINGERS, musicians and patrons who have hit the high notes with the Kentwood Show Choir over the years are being invited to a reunion.
The choir, which started 48 years ago with just five members, will be reuniting past and present members at Wroughton Club, in Devizes Road, Wroughton, in July.
Musical director Sheila Harrod said she is looking forward to seeing familiar faces at the reunion, which is being organised by Nicolette Morland and Sue Skillen.
“It is not being put on by me but obviously I would love to see some of my old students. I will be popping along,” she said.
“Kentwood has been going for 48 years. It started with five girls in my parents’ living room and we have been going all that time.
“I have taught hundreds of students over the years.
“The idea is to get everybody together who was in the choir.”
The choir has raised more than £1m for charity since it started.
The reunion, which will include a buffet, will take place on July 14 from 7.30pm and it is open to anyone who has ever been associated with the choir.
Nicolette said: “Kentwood Show Choir has had many past members over the years, some going on to appear on television and in West End shows.
“We are organising a reunion in July for anyone who has been associated with Kentwood over the past 48 years.
“We are charging a small admission fee to cover the cost of the hall and buffet and are hoping to raise some money for charity by selling more tickets than needed to cover these costs.
“Sheila Harrod and the choir have raised thousands of pounds for charity over the years and we would like to carry on this tradition at the reunion.”

The choir’s annual showcase takes place at The Wyvern on May 19 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets, which are £12.50 each, are available from the box office by calling 01793 524481.
