A GROUP of teenagers were threatened with a silver coloured pistol in the town centre on Tuesday.
The incident happened at approximately 9:50 pm when a man climbed up to an open first floor window at a property on Rolleston Street, and pointed what appeared to be a silver coloured pistol at a group of two males and 2 female youths, all aged between 16 and 19, who were inside.
The man stole an item of clothing from within and then ran off, down Leighfield Close towards Eastcott Hill.
The offender was as white, aged 20 years, approximately 6ft tall with strawberry blonde hair. He was wearing a white hoody with the hood up and a white bandana across his face.
Police were quickly at the scene and have recovered what is believed to be a starter pistol close by.
DC Sally Booth said: "No one was injured during the incident and the group of youths are all okay but shaken by these events.
"The threat or use of weapons of any type is a very serious and we are very keen to hear from anyone who saw or has heard about this incident.
"No matter how small a piece of information, please contact us as it may assist our enquiries.’
"Police would like to reassure the public that this is a one off incident and is being treated as such at this time."
