Ukulele playing has become increasingly popular, and a new amateur group was formed last year in Ashton Keynes, between Swindon and Cirencester. They are a mixture of ages and skills, ranging from complete beginners to slightly more experienced players. They are now looking for more members. Don't worry if you don't have a ukulele, as they are more than happy to let you try out their Ukes before you buy one. If you don't play but would like to go along and sing - then they would welcome singers too. They are a very friendly small group, more concerned with enjoyment than being technically brilliant. All the local music shops have good ukuleles from about £29. So it's a very cheap way of playing some fun music.
They meet every Wednesday at 8pm, at The White Hart Inn, Ashton Keynes. They use the function room attached to the pub, but meet in the bar first! You can just turn up at the White Hart, or for any more information - ring Lewis on 01285 861212.
