A FOOTBALL fan who toured 25 football pitches last weekend in memory of her father has raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
Emily Kender, who is a teacher at Liden Primary School, started the tour at the County Ground on Friday in memory of her father Martin, who died last year at the age of 57.
The 25-year-old was raising funds for the Esther Benjamin Trust and the Royal British Legion during the trip, which she completed on Sunday.
“It was fantastic apart from nearly getting washed and blown away on Sunday,” she said. “We raised £800, which is great.”
Martin, of Highworth, was an Aston Villa fan but also a shareholder of Chesterfield FC and was often ti be found in the crowd at Highworth Town games.
He was on the town council, served as mayor and founded the town’s branch of the Royal British Legion.
