LABOUR leader Jim Grant has said he thinks the council election results will be a close call.
Waiting for the first ward to be called he said he believed that the recent unpopularity of the Government would stand the party in good favour in the town.
“I think we ought to get quite close to taking the council," he said.
"The new ward boundaries has turned out to be quite a neutral factor.
"We are confident we'll hold on to our safe seats and hopefully in marginal seats we’ll make gain.”
