LABOUR have won in the new ward of Penhill and Upper Stratton.
Paul Baker received 1,142 votes, Teresa Page received 1,134 votes and Joseph Tray received 1,109.
The turnout for the ward was 29 per cent.
Coun Tray said: I am elated that Penhill and Upper Stratton will be represented by three Labour councillors.
"I think the public has spoken over some of the poor decisions the Government has made in recent months."
Coun Baker, who previously represented the Penhill ward, said it was a fantastic night.
"I think that all the hard work we do has gone really well," he said.
"I was a bit disappointed with the turnout but still very proud of the work was do."
And Coun Page said she was going to enjoy the moment.
"I'm delighted and I'm just going to seize the day," she said.
