GARDENERS in Cricklade will have the chance to gain inspiration this weekend.
The town's Open Gardens event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, June 26 and 27. It features 25 gardens in the area, including the community space at Saxons Rest. People can take a look around small, intimate gardens as well as larger and more expansive spaces and allotments.
Most are within walking distance around the town but two are best accessed by driving and there will be adequate parking at those venues.
A spokesperson for the event said: “We have all been longing to get out and about.
“What better opportunity to be able to this safely and at the same time gain inspiration and pleasure from what you see.”
Gardens will be open from 1pm until 6pm on both days. Entry passports can be bought in advance from the Town Council offices during office hours or from any garden on the day.
Teas, coffee and cakes will be served on both days at two of the gardens.
Proceeds from the event will be going to two local charities – Cricklade Open Door and St Sampson’s Church Roof Appeal Fund.
