WILTSHIRE Senior League side Purton pulled off a shock in the opening round of the Wiltshire Senior Cup as they claimed the scalp of Sydenhams League Premier Division opponents Bemerton Heath Harlequins at the Red House.
Substitute Daren Regis scored his first goal for Purton to wrap up a 1-0 win guaranteeing at least four Wiltshire League sides in the second round, with Purton joining Marlborough Town, Trowbridge Town and Cricklade Town.
Marlborough went through after first-round opponents Football ID pulled out of their tie, while Cricklade booked their passage with a 6-0 triumph over Ludgershall Sports.
Devan Bryan netted a hat-trick and Dave Coleman, Elliott Corp and Reece Gilliver were also on target.
Melksham Town Reserves are top of the Premier Division table after squeezing out their Westbury United counterparts, who had not lost in seven matches.
Leigh Rogers fired the winner to send Melksham top, Kintbury having to settle for second spot despite firing eight goals past Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development.
There were two goals each for Charlie Allsop, Fabio Pinto, Shaun Thorp and George Smith.
Shrewton United were 2-1 winners over Trowbridge Town as goals from Craig Lewis and Charlie Utterson brought them the points, despite a reply from Jordan Cullis.
Pewsey Vale Development nicked the points from their tight clash with Devizes Town Reserves as Kieron Kiff netted the winner at the death at Nursteed Road.
