LEIGH Bedwell endured the Christmas from hell as he spent several days in hospital.
The Swindon Town goalkeeper was taken ill on Christmas Day with a bowel infection and spent six days in the care of the doctors and nurses at GWH before being discharged on New Year’s Eve.
Town manager Mark Cooper explained: “On Christmas Day we thought he had appendicitis but it wasn’t appendicitis. I’m not quite sure of the term and what was wrong but it was something to do with and infection in his bowel which had to be sorted out.
“I’ve texted him and he's had a rough Christmas. It’s horrible for him.”
