A DEAL is believed to have been agreed in principle which will see George Barker make the move from Brighton & Hove Albion to Swindon Town.
As revealed by the Advertiser this morning, the Robins have been lining up a swoop for the young striker and discussions are now understood to be at an advanced stage.
Barker, 22, looks set to complete his switch to the County Ground by the end of the week on an 18-month contract and the club remain hopeful he can be involved in the League One clash with Peterborough United on Saturday.
Barker was recommended to chairman Lee Power and manager Mark Cooper by assistant coach Luke Williams, who was previously in charge of Brighton’s development squad.
The diminutive frontman is expected to sign a permanent deal in Wiltshire but he is not seen as a replacement for Nile Ranger, who is set to leave Town in the next few days.
