AFTER a year of fundraising efforts, Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust have unveiled their new minibus.
The vehicle will help deliver programmes such as disability, Futsal and football education and social inclusion courses to a wider audience and was funded by a series of events, the most notable of which took place in June where Lydiard House staged a summer ball in aid of the Trust.
A team of organiser led by business support officer Joe O’Brien secured help from the likes of Mark Sawyer and Denise Bentley at TE Connectivity and Michelle Hobbs from Tesco.
Trust joint manager Clive Maguire said: “We have had another fantastic year with the purchase of our minibus being one of our major highlights and achievements.
“The support we have received from both TE Connectivity and Tesco has been pivotal in enabling us reach our goal of obtaining our very own vehicle.
“The benefits for our participants who engage within our programmes will be amazing.
“I personally cannot wait to take our Down’s syndrome football team to the National DS Active Festival at West Bromwich Albion in March next year.”
