SWINDON’S darts players endured enjoyed a mixed weekend at the latest round of PDC Challenge and Youth Tour events.
Josh McCarthy put in the best display, reaching the quarter-finals of the second Youth Tour event, where he lost out 4-3 to Sam Hewson but was able to pick up £150.
Tweddell was also competing and picked up a total of £125, with £25 coming as he reached round two in event one before he lost 4-3 to Dimitri van den Bergh to earn £100 by reaching round four of the second event.
Tweddell and John Newland were competing in the two Challenge Tour events the following day, each picking up £50.
After Newland went out at the first hurdle of event one to Dave Weston, Tweddell went one better before losing to Nathan Derry in round two. However, the roles were reversed in event two as Newland progressed to the second stage before losing 5-1 to Nick Fulwell while Tweddell lost to John Goldie in the opening round.
