BRAD Smith is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected grade one medial ligament strain during Swindon Town’s victory at Luton Town on Tuesday night.
Smith, who only arrived in Wiltshire last week on a youth loan from Liverpool, picked up the knock in the first half of Capital One Cup clash at Kenilworth Road and was substituted at the break.
He was been scanned by Swindon’s medical team and has now returned to his parent club. The injury is expected to keep him out of action for several weeks.
“Brad Smith has gone back to Liverpool for assessment. He probably won’t feature for a few weeks. We think he’s got a grade one medial strain,” Town boss Mark Cooper said.
“He’s tested as though it’s not a tear. It’s a strain. He certainly won’t be able to feature in the next few games.”
