SWINDON Town manager Mark Cooper is still waiting to hear from Southampton regarding the potential availability of Jack Stephens.
The defender has been Cooper’s primary transfer target this summer but, with the Saints still looking to recruit a new centre-back to replace Dejan Lovren, the Robins boss has had to be patient.
At his media briefing on Thursday, Cooper told the local press that there was no movement on the Stephens front.
He said: “All I keep reading is that Southampton will sign a player in the next 24 hours and that’s been going on for two weeks. I take it with a pinch of salt and I’ll keep waiting for the phone call to say he’s actually on his way down here.
“At the minute, nothing.”
