JOSH Lelan could be in line to return to the Swindon Town squad for this Saturday’s League One clash with Coventry City.
The Derby County youngster saw his work experience deal come to an end at the County Ground last weekend with Town boss Mark Cooper refusing to be drawn on the defender’s future.
Following Tuesday’s night heartbreaking Capital One Cup defeat to Brighton, all the Town chief would say about Lelan was “Josh has gone back to Derby.”
However, the Advertiser spotted the 19-year-old back in Swindon yesterday lunchtime with Jordan Turnbull and Ben Gladwin.
The club were refusing to be drawn on the spotting of Lelan when contacted the Advertiser.
During Lelan’s first spell at the club he started in the opening day of the season 3-1 victory over Scunthorpe United, and also came off the bench in the 2-2 draw at Gillingham to replace Massimo Luongo.
Given the number of injuries that Town have at present, Gladwin (ankle), Michael Smith (shoulder), George Barker (discolated shoulder), Andy Williams (back), Anton Rodgers (knee), as well as Nathan Thompson suspended, Cooper is desperate to bring fresh faces.
“All of them are really big doubts for Saturday,” Cooper said before revealing that he only had 10 fit players.
