PURTON manager Justin Miller is anticipating that he’ll have a few tough decisions on team selection to make when he finally has his full squad to pick from in the coming weeks.
The wedding of captain Marcus Hall has taken Callum Hall, Jonny Cowley and Jamie Richards out of the equation for this weekend’s Hellenic League Division One West trip to Clanfield whilst Steve May and Richie Saunders are also unavailable.
Miller admits that an unsettled side has been a source of frustration but the Red House boss isn’t looking forward to telling members of his squad that they won’t be getting a game once his full contingent becomes available.
“It’s going to be an absolute nightmare. The problem is that we don’t have a reserve team and that means that some people aren’t going to be playing when we’ve got a full squad,” said Miller.
“It’s going to be interesting when we’ve got everyone available. We’ve got a big squad and there are going to be some hard decisions for me to make.
“It has been a bit frustrating not having a settled side so far and we’ll have to see where we are at the end of September.
“We’ve got three tough away games coming up against Clanfield, Lydney (Town) and Carterton and they’re three teams that are fancied.
“It’s going to be tough but if we’re serious about doing anything this year, we’ve got to do well in these games.”
In the Premier Division, Highworth Town, who were hammered 8-1 by Brimscombe & Thrupp in the Floodlit Cup on Tuesday, host Bracknell Town.
