TWO members of Raychem Netball Club were nominated in the regional rounds of England Netball’s ‘Goalden Globes’ awards held at Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton.
The awards recognise the hard work and dedication of volunteers involved in the sport at grassroots level in the South West.
Tracy Watt and Lynn Tomlin were nominated for the Grassroots Coach and the Unsung Hero awards respectively, and to the delight of their supporters, both won their categories.
Watt is a well-respected coach in the Swindon and Wiltshire area and coaches within Raychem, Croft and Royal Wootton Basset netball clubs.
She has many years of experience and happily provides support and assistance to help players and coaches of all abilities reach their full potential. Watt also plays netball at Regional 1 level. T
omlin, as Raychem club secretary, has a busy role within the club but also coaches at junior and senior level, manages squads and umpires, as well as helping to organise and support a very active junior section at the club. Tomlin also plays in the Swindon League.
The duo epitomise everything that is great about loving your sport and giving something back. They will both now go forward to the national awards ceremony to be held in September, where they will compete against the winners in the other regions throughout England.
