SWINDON’S Jazz Carlin claimed her second gold medal of the Mare Nostrum series as she claimed gold in the 400m freestyle this evening.
The 25-year-old, who now lives in Bradford on Avon, clocked a time of 4 minutes 4.67 seconds to finish ahead of Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu and France’s Coralie Balmy.
Carlin had claimed gold on Wednesday in the 800m freestyle in Canet-en-Roussillon before finishing sixth in the A final of the 200m freestyle.
The Tigersharks swimmer qualified second fastest in the morning heats as she finished behind Hosszu with a time of 4:09.80.
However, she left plenty in reserve for the final, which she won by 0.73 seconds, to claim 924 points in the three-meeting series, which finishes in Barcelona this weekend, where Carlin will again be going in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle.
