SWINDON Town’s clash at home to Bristol Rovers in League One this afternoon has been abandoned due to adverse weather conditions.
The score was still goalless at the County Ground when referee Oliver Langord called the game off just before the hour mark following a heavy downpour of rain.
The rain had began to fall during the first half before increasing excessively during the half-time break.
Play restarted but the ball began to hold up on a sodden pitch and referee Langford called a halt to proceedings just before the hour mark, taking the players off the field.
A pitch inspection was then called for 3.10pm to see if the match could resume but the officials deemed conditions were unsatisfactory and the match was called off.
No date has yet been announced for when the match will be re-arranged.
