PINEHURST A put up a cracking fight with only seven players against Croft A in Division One. A blood injury reduced their number to six in the second quarter but Pinehurst battled through to win 45-36, with Lauren Larcombe receiving player of the match honours.
Lawn’s A team were beaten 59-40 by Raychem.
In Division Two, Nationwide A came up against Fairford A, for whom superb defending by Libby Ogbomo and Elina Ahwlin ensured a 47-30 success, Chloe Dodgson being given player of the match for Fairford.
Lawn’s B team delivered a 49-33 triumph against Nationwide B, with goal shooter Karen Rawlings earning player of the match.
Croft B got the better of Lawn C 42-20 with Sandra Wright being named as player of the match.
Delta Reds B were beaten 27-16 by Purton A in Division Three, despite a player of the match display from Jolene Wilson.
In the same division, Royal Wootton Bassett A secured a 46-17 win over Abbey B in poor conditions.
Led by player of the match goal shooter Liz Kelly there was also a strong debut performance from goal attack Georgina Fisher.
Fairford B were defeated 39-22 by Raychem D with player of the match going to goal shooter Rebecca Foster.
Delta C claimed a 37-22 victory in Division Four against Jets B.
Excellent shooting from from Vicky Parker and Ann Forrester took Delta nine ahead going into the second half, with debutant Chelsea Parish excelling and Dee Wilson being awarded player of the match.
Royal Wootton Bassett B were 47-37 winners over Faringdon, with Banita Mudhar awarded player of the match.
Nationwide C were edge out 15-14 by Croft D in worsening wet conditions, Kate Moore being awarded player of the match for Nationwide.
Lawn D team put up a strong fight against their Raychem counterparts before eventually losing 43-31, with Lawn’s centre Lauren Twine being awarded player of the match.
A new combination of Royal Wootton Bassett C team players took to court against the youthful Lawn E in Division Five and held off Lawn to secure their second successive win 26-21 with Kate Pontin the player of the match.
NATIONWIDE’S Regional squad romped to an impressive 66-22 success over Old Chelts.
With Ruth Rance taking to the court for her first regional match for Nationwide as goal attack, excellent mid-court play from Amy Cottle, Kathryn Sell and Fran Connolly and impressive shooting from player of the match Jess Sowden made it two wins from two at the start of the campaign.
Lawn’s Regional League Two team lost out 56-42 against Galmington Titans, good shooting from Abbie Simpson earning her player of the match honours.
PINEHURST Under 16’s entered the Netball South West regional seeding tournament in Plymouth at the weekend.
By finishing third in their group Pinehurst qualified for Division One under coach Stacey Richmond.
Lawn’s U16’s squad also represented Wiltshire in the South West regional seeding tournament, missing out on entering the South West Division One league by a single goal and will play in the second division.
