A FINE start helped Lawn A clinch a 53-43 success over Raychem B in their Division One clash.
Goal shooter Holly Thompson earned herself a well deserved player of the match even after sustaining an injury in the third quarter and having to come off, to be replaced by her mother Sam.
The scores were even at 25-25 at the half, but Lawn pulled clear to lead by seven at the end of the third quarter.
Ellie Zimmer was Raychem’s player of the match.
Raychem C are still looking for their first Division Two victory after losing out 43-30 to Jets A.
Jets led 10-5 at the end of the first quarter and had doubled that advantage by the end of the second.
Raychem drew the third quarter, with goal keeper Michele Tyler taking player of the match honours, and only lost the final one by three goals.
Lawn B were edged out 58-47 in a nail-biting clash against Fairford last weekend, Ashley Warwick managing several interceptions and earning herself player of the match.
During the third quarter, Fairford stepped up the pace and injuries took their toll on Lawn, who finished with six players.
Raychem D made it three wins from three in Division Three as they got the better of Moredon B 40-29, Hollie Compton being named player of the match.
Purton beat Delta Reds B 27-16, with Devina Jolene Wilson awarded the player of the match for Delta.
Royal Wootton Bassett A secured a 46-17 win over Abbey B, with Liz Kelly the player of the match and debutant Georgina Fisher putting in a strong display at goal attack.
Faringdon continued their strong start in Division Four, beating Royal Wootton Bassett B 47-37, Banita Mudhar being awarded player of the match.
Warwick claimed a second player of the match award against Corsham for Lawn C as they lost 42-20 to Croft B.
Coleview edged out Lawn D 31-30, while Delta C were 37-22 winners over Jets B, with Dee Wilson getting player of the match for Delta.
Against Purton B in Division Five, Lawn E’s goal attack Brook Dayton was the player of the match as a mixed-age team played well, but Purton stayed ahead to take victory 49-34.
Abbey Meads C got the better of Raychem G 33-23, Freniett Evill being Raychem’s player of the match.
n LAWN’S Over 35s had a convincing 43-15 win over Fairford, with Karen Rawlings and Lyn Palmer on fine shooting form and goal defence Sandra Wright earning player of the match honours.
Lawn’s Regional League Two squad travelled to Bridgewater to take on Jupiter, looking for their first win.
At the end of the first quarter they trailed by six and, despite making changes, moving Lucy Ruddle to goal attack, they were unable to catch up, Kirsty Harris their player of the match.
