PINEHURST B took an early lead in their Swindon & District Division One clash with Raychem B and managed to maintain it throughout the game, culminating in a 39-30 victory.
Strong defensive teamwork and patient progression up the court ensured the win for Pinehurst, with wing attack Issy Minturn the player of the match.
Lawn’s A team, who put in a confident performance against Burmah A, showED dominance in the shooting circle, with goal shooter Charlotte Legg earning a well deserved player of the match award in the 54-42 triumph.
In Division Two, Fairford A played Corsham in a tight match.
Corsham took an early lead, scoring five goals in succession but the second quarter was much more evenly matched, with Fairford trailing by just seven goals going into the second half.
Fairford came out strongly in the third quarter and pulled back to within five.
The final quarter saw both teams go all out, with Corsham just taking the win 39-38 in the last few minutes.
Fairford’s centre, Angie Burrell, was named player of the match.
Lawn C scraped a 38-33 win against Pinehurst C, in what was a level contest throughout.
Lawn’s goal keeper Ashley Warwick made some crucial interceptions to give Lawn the advantage and take victory.
Nationwide C team secured their first win of the season and debuted new goal shooter Georgie Brain in their 37-32 triumph over Delta Reds B in Division Three.
Nationwide led the game from the offset and increased their lead to seven goals by the end of the third quarter, Charlotte Webb being named player of the match.
Royal Wootton Bassett A took on fellow promoted side Purton A, starting strongly and taking the lead after the first quarter.
Purton closed the gap through the remaining quarters but the match finished with a 43-37 Bassett win, goal attack Stacey Watson being awarded player of the match.
Lawn D secured their second win of the Division Four campaign, creeping further clear of Pinehurst D as the game went on, with goal attack Holly Atkins receiving the player of the match award in a 38-14 victory.
Bassett’s B team had a slow start against Coleview, trailing by eight goals by the second quarter before launching a fine fightback to win the final two sessions and ensure a 43-43 draw.
Bassett’s team player of the match was Caroline Beard.
Lawn E still await their first win in Division Five after losing out 29-25 to Burmah C, despite some fine interceptions by Lawn’s goal keeper Jade Young that received a much-deserved player of the match.
Abbey Meads C went up against Royal Wootton Bassett C, who claimed the spoils 29-19, with Mollie Smith named their player of the match.
Abbey centre Jessie Brown took her side’s accolade.
