Nationwide C team put in a challenging performance against Division Three leaders Raychem D.
Nationwide’s new defence pairing of goalkeeper Diane Burrows and goal defence Georgie Brain struggled to slow down Raychem’s attack as they slipped to a a nine-goal deficit at the end of the first quarter.
This increased to 13 at half-time before Nationwide’s goal attack Charlotte Webb, goal shooter Sian Corbyn and wing attack Kate Moore reduced the arrears to four by the close of the third session.
However, Raychem saw the game out to win 40-35. Webb was named Raychem’s player of the match.
Also in the third division, Purton A beat Fairford B 27-14, with Purton’s Marie McIntosh player of the match, while Royal Wootton Bassett A defeated Moredon B 57-34, with Holly Aitkenhead the top performer.
In Division 4, Bassett B beat Raychem F 68 -26 as Banita Mudhar was awarded player of the match for Bassett, while their C team, playing in Division Five, saw off Raychem G 36-21, with Jessica Smith the star player.
Lawn C claimed a 41-38 win over Nationwide A in Division Two thanks to an outstanding performance from Maya Denison.
Lawn’s B team, playing the same division, claimed a vital 32-24 win against Jets, with Courtney Arnold taking the player award.
In Division 4, Lawn D secured a narrow 38-35 win over Jets B, as centre Ava Kirby was given player of the match.
In Division One, Lawn’s A team lost 33-28 to Delta A, with Gemma Duff taking the player honours.
Fairford A defeated Croft B 42-33, with Fairford’s Chloé Dodgson and Croft’s Chelsea Matthews named players of the match. Lawn’s Regional League 2 squad, faced second in the league Crossbow.
Lawn dominated Crossbow and claimed a 63-40 success, with centre Kirsty Harris receiving the player of the match gong.
Raychem;s U14 Regional team travelled to Clifton in Bristol for three fixtures in Division One.
They played Exeter, Gloucester-based Hucclecote and West Exe throughout the day and came out victors, beating Exeter 18-17, Hucclecote 21-13 and West Exe 27-14.
This was the first time Raychem have entered an U14 Regional team and qualified for Division One, where they sit third in the table.
- SWINDON Vixens Netball Club, a team for women over 16 with learning disabilities, have been invited to participate in England Netball’s Core Inclusive Clubs Programme.
The programme will provide clubs with the resources and support they need to increase their inclusive footprint.
Core Inclusive Clubs will receive grants of up to £1000 and participate in a programme of planning and training that will allow them to develop a range of skills.
