SWINDON Town slipped to yet another away defeat after Lee Gregory’s double condemned them to a 2-0 loss at The Den.
The visitors opted to make two changes to the side which drew 1-1 with Fleetwood Town at the County Ground, as Sean Murray and Tom Smith came in for Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill and Anton Rodgers.
It was the home side who would make the breakthrough in the tenth minute in the game when striker Gregory was able to beat Lawrence Vigouroux from a tight angle.
The chance came when Millwall pumped the ball into Swindon’s penalty area where it was met by Fred Onyedinma before he then pushed it into Gregory.
From there the striker still had much to do, but he was able to roll his marker before lashing the ball home from the right-hand side.
In the 36th minute the Lions had a chance to double their lead when Morison was able to play in the goalscorer Gregory, but Swindon captain Nathan Thompson was on hand to clear up for Town.
After ten minutes of the second half and no real threat on the Millwall goal, the visitors decided it was time to make a change.
Johnny Goddard came on for Smith, who had struggled at left wing back, in a reshuffle which saw Doughty take up the defensive role.
Swindon then had a half chance in the 60th minute when a foul on Furlong allowed Murray to find the head of Jones from a free-kick.
But the Liverpool loanee could only direct his header to the Millwall goal and was far too tame to cause any real concern.
Their search for a second then continued, with a few prolonged spells of pressure and the hosts were able to double their lead in the 64th minute.
Gregory grabbed his second of the after Morison picked him out from the right before thumping home.
Luke Williams’ side now looked like they could be in danger of falling further behind as Millwall looked to kill the game off with a third.
Norris had half a chance with a snapshot from just outside the area, but his curling effort was just over the bar.
Tempers began to flare for Swindon as Kasim after a confrontation with Gregory which saw him enter the book with just under 20 minutes to go.
Late on, Vigouroux kept it to two with a fantastic save after a well worked corner from Neil Harris’ side.
In the dying moments, the hosts hit the post after a frantic counter attack, but they were unable to extend their lead as the game finished 2-0.
