THERE was a closely-fought contest in Division Two between Purton A and Fairford B, who eked out a 28-27 triumph.
Fairford ended the first quarter 7-5 ahead but Purton stepped up a level in the next phase, scoring 10 goals and held a four-goal lead at the end of the third period.
The final quarter saw Fairford keep up the pressure, Jody Jefferies being Purton’s player of the match.
Lawn B started strongly against Jets A, going seven goals up in the first quarter, their defensive duo of Sandra Wright and Claire Worship impressing.
They went on to win 52-10, with centre Ebony McIntyre the player of the match.
Lawn C found themselves on the wrong end of a 61-38 scoreline against leaders Nationwide A, Lawn’s goal attack Maya Dennison earning herself another player of the match award.
Lawn A put up a strong performance to register a 44-13 win over Delta Reds A in Division One, centre Jody Sealey’s interceptions earning her the player of the match award.
In Division Three, Royal Wootton Bassett A were comfortable 52-28 winners over Moredon B, Liz Kelly being their player of the match as they remained in second spot.
Raychem D defeated Nationwide C 51-42, with goal attack Charlotte Webb being Nationwide’s player of the match.
A strong start from Royal Wootton Bassett B in their Division Four clash with Raychem F handed them a first-quarter lead, which they maintained throughout the contest.
They finally secured a 54-29 success, with Caroline Beard awarded player of the match honours for Bassett.
Lawn D racked up an impressive tally to beat Jets B 51-36, despite only leading by a goal at the end of the first quarter.
Goal attack Holly Atkins earned player of the match honours.
Royal Wootton Bassett C continued to head the Division Five standings after a 43-13 win over Raychem G, with Annabelle Hosking the player of the match for Bassett.
Abbey Meads C, with only seven players, went down 44-21 to their Fairford counterparts, with centre Abigail Cook their player of the match Lawn E took on Ferndale, playing strong, fluent netball throughout to rack up a 56-12 triumph.
n LAWN’S O35 team concluded their title-winning campaign with a 26-26 draw against second-placed Nationwide, their first dropped points of the season.
Lawn completed a second consecutive unbeaten campaign and have won the division in eight out of the nine seasons.
Centre Nikky Carvey was Lawn’s player of the match.
