FAIRFORD secured an early lead to pave the way towards their 36-25 success over Delta A in Swindon & District Winter League Division Two.
There was another close match for Royal Wootton Bassett A against Croft B, Bassett making a strong start and pulling ahead in the first quarter.
Croft B evenly matched them for most of the contest, but Bassett edged home 38-37, with Annabel Hosking their player of the match.
Nationwide B took an early 12-6 lead against their Lawn counterparts, but a nine-goal turnaround in the second quarter took Lawn in front.
Nationwide were trailing by just a goal heading into the final quarter but Lawn’s strong finish earned them a 50-32 win, goal attack Holly Atkins their player of the match.
Lawn C found the going tough in difficult conditions against Raychem C, who won 37-23, Jade Young being Lawn’s player of the match.
In Division Four, Royal Wootton Bassett B took on Lawn D in a top of the table match, Lawn taking the lead in the second quarter and going on to win the game 46-38. Centre Mollie Smith was named player of the match for Bassett, with wing defence Lucy Drury doing likewise for Lawn.
Bassett’s C team took on Raychem E, who led in the first quarter and maintained that edge for a 47-29 success. Jess Smith was named player of the match for Bassett.
Farington turned a one-goal first-quarter lead against Jets into five by the end of the second, but Jets reduced arrears to just one at the end of the third and found their stride to win 28-21.
Moonraker led Pinehurst D and stretched clear to win 64-47, Cath Watts being their player of the match.
Delta Reds were 35-39 winners over Purton B, with goal attack Jennifer McMahon named Delta’s player of the match.
Raychem F got the better of Lawn E 22-16 in Division Five.
