THREE regional riders have made the long-list squad to compete at this year’s World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina.
Laura Collett, Kitty King and Harry Meade were three of the 17 combinations selected by the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) for the championships, which takes place from September 11 until September 23.
Collett is down to compete on her own Mr Bass while King will partner Ceylor L A N, owned by Diana Bown, Jacqueline Owen and Samantha Wilson.
Meade meanwhile will pair up with Charlotte Opperman’s Away Cruising.
Fifteen combinations will be submitted to the Federation Equestre Internationale as the nominated entries on August 13 before that figure will be reduced to a squad of five later that month.
Prior to this, all combinations must maintain their current form to remain on the long-list ahead of the Championships.
Eventing performance manager Richard Waygood MBE said: “It is fantastic to have such a strong group of combinations long-listed for this year’s World Championships.
“There have been some impressive performances across the board so far this season and I’m very excited to be working with such a superb group of athletes.”
The Championships will present Team GB with another opportunity to stabilise their current second-place position in the overall medal count.
Since the competition was founded in 1990, Team GB have won 19 gold, 20 silver and 10 bronze medals.
Team Germany top the standings having secured 87 medals - including 36 golds.
