PROMOTER Mark Neilson says Swindon boxing fans are in for a treat after revealing Harlem Eubank will also feature on their pre-Christmas show.
The ‘Kings of the Ring’ event will take place on Saturday, December 8 at the MECA in Swindon’s Regent Circus.
A host of local fighters are set to feature on a stacked card, with welterweight Ryan Martin headlining alongside fellow Paddy Fitzpatrick-trained fighters Bec Connolly, Harry Webb and Bradley Townsend.
Eubank, who is currently 5-0 and the nephew of two-weight world champion Chris Eubank, is involved in another contest which has been added to the card
The 24-year-old is trained by Adam Booth, and show promoter Neilson says it is a great coup for the Swindon event to have him on board.
Neilson said: “We have Harlem Eubank on the bill and his name alone will bring a lot of people to the show.
“He trains down in Brighton with Chris Eubank Jr and his trainer is Adam Booth.
“Adam and his team are looking to give Harlem some more experience, so he’ll be out in a six-round fight in December.
“They have some big plans for him. He trains with Adam and, in my opinion, he is one of the top five trainers in the country.
“He selects who he trains, so there has to be something good about Harlem because if there wasn’t, Adam wouldn’t be training him.
“It is superb to have such a high-profile name. He is a great talent and it’ll be great for the boxing fans in Swindon to see such a high-profile talent.
“There is also word Chris Eubank Snr will come down in the crowd to keep an eye on his nephew.”
With their professional experience still in its infancy, Nielson says he is now in a superb position as people now contact him with a view to boxing on a Neilson show.
“We’ve only had a professional licence for a couple of years, but we have put on 28 shows in total if you count white collar and charity events,” added Neilson.
“We are really good at organising shows and as a result, we have a really good reputation for putting on great shows.
“I’m now receiving phone calls every few days from people in the South West, asking if they can put their boxers on one of our shows.
“I’d love to do it, but at the moment, we just don’t have the capacity in the venue to put them all in. It is a great position to be in because you can cherry pick the best fighters.”
