WILTSHIRE moved up to eighth in the British Inter-County Championships Division Three table after beating fourth placed Buckinghamshire away from home
The result is Wiltshire’s third win in their most recent four away trips, however they remain 29 points short of table topping sides Cleveland and Somerset.
After a disappointing 22-14 loss to Welsh outfit Montgomery and Radnor, Wiltshire bounced back in style to secure a 20-16 victory.
Ladies B made an inspired start, winning their contest 4-2 through Lady of the Match Sue Lane, who ended her tie with an average of 21.47.
Tina Rowland (19.62), Erica Hartnett (16.34) and debutant Stevie Lees (15.39) also helped Wiltshire establish an early lead.
Wiltshire then opened up a four-point overnight lead after Men’s B won 7-5 – Dion Newman set the tone with two 180s and a total average of 26.67.
Despite Ladies A losing 4-2, Men’s A re-established Wiltshire’s two point advantage as Connor Hughes (23.96) made up for the hosts’ first leg win.
Six further wins put the game beyond Buckinghamshire’s reach, as Wiltshire moved up to eighth.
