DAVID Howell extended his tough run of missed cuts on the European Tour to a 10th tournament after another difficult day at the Trophee Hassan II in Morocco on Friday.
Swindon star Howell shot a seven-over second round of 80 to drop back to 11-over overall – a total that means he misses out on the weekend action at all seven of the events he has contested on the European Tour this season.
Starting his second round four-over in Rabat, Howell was already slipping further down the leaderboard after his opening hole following a bogey.
Two more dropped shots followed at holes three and six to mean the 43-year-old headed for the turn three-over for the day and seven-over for the tournament.
There was some brief respite for Howell with a birdie at the 13th hole, however, the Broome Manor man was to endure more disappointment before heading back to the clubhouse.
Two-time Ryder Cup winner Howell recorded triple bogey at hole 14 and then double bogey at 16 to cap a miserable round of seven-over, dropping him to 11-over overall and outside the top 140 on the leaderboard to head home early.
