SWINDON rider Toby Fry claimed the National 148cm Championship crown at the 2019 British Showjumping Championships this week.
Riding Zucan V, Fry was the only entrant to produce a double-clear round, with the technical course proving tough to tackle for the whole field.
Fry said: “As I was first in the ring, I told myself to kick on and set a good time.
“In addition to this, I’ve achieved my two aims of qualifying for Horse of the Year Show and Olympia in one hit.”
The combination came eighth in the 148cm Championship at the Horse of the Year Show last year and will now be returning for another tilt at the title.
The partnership will also be making their first appearance at Olympia this year.
Ella Quigley and Rock Dee Jay finished as runners-up in this week’s event, with Elissa Herrmann and Superbre de Laloena taking third.
