ADVER Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players following their 3-1 defeat to Peterborough United in League One.
Matej Kovar: 5
He made quite a few good saves, but his reluctance to catch anything and another frustrating error for Peterborough’s third goal means a low score.
Paul Caddis: 6
Caddis was perhaps unlucky not to have won a penalty for Town, but otherwise quite a quiet and solid game for the Scot. Booked.
Zeki Fryers: 6
Looked tidy and confident before suffering a groin injury and had to be replaced. Subbed.
Mathieu Baudry: 3
This was one of the Frenchman’s worst games in a Town shirt – three avoidable errors were punished by Posh and Baudry felt the wrath of his manager post-match. Booked.
Rob Hunt: 5
Hunt started off strongly, but once Peterborough grew into the match, the full-back was bullied out of it.
Anthony Grant: 6
An unusually quiet day for Grant as Posh simply played their way around him for the most part.
Matt Smith: 6
Smith was unable to get on the ball much, and when he did he often took too many touches. He will have more impressive games.
Jordan Stevens: 7
The Leeds winger was very impressive and set up Payne’s goal, but a brilliant first half faded around the hour mark as he tired. Subbed.
Jack Payne: 7
Payne took his goal extremely well after a well-timed run, but once he was moved out to the left following Jaiyesimi’s introduction, Payne seemed much less effective.
Jonny Smith: 6
Smith showed good pace on a few occasions, but he didn’t looked particularly confident and could have shot instead of playing in Pitman a couple of times. Subbed.
Brett Pitman: 5
Pitman failed to make the most of the few chances he was given and never looked like building on last week’s goal at home.
SUBSTITUTES
Jonathan Grounds: 7
Once Grounds is fit, he could be a staple in Town’s defence due to his impressive leadership skills and technical skill on the ball – attributes he showed in abundance on Saturday. Booked.
Diallang Jaiyesimi: 6
Jaiyesimi didn’t seem fully fit after his knee issue, though he did cause a few problems after his introduction.
Tyler Smith: 6
Showed good energy and put himself about once he came on, but was never presented with a goalscoring chance, unfortunately.
