SWINDON Town coach Tommy Wright has confirmed he is to remain with the club despite apparent interest in his services from former manager Richie Wellens at Salford City.
Reports emerged at the end of last week stating Wellens was working with the board at the Peninsula Stadium to bring about a deal that would tempt Wright to join the ex-Town boss in Lancashire.
However, the 54-year-old was adamant he had received no formal contact from Salford about a potential move and reaffirmed his commitment to Swindon Town prior to the club’s west-country derby against Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
Wright said: “I’m not moving, definitely not. I’m staying here, I’m happy here.
“I’ve spoken to Richie since he left but not about going to Salford. I’ve just spoken about football in general because we get on very well.
“We’ve just spoken about football players, what’s happening with him at Salford, what’s happening to us here.
“But I’m happy here, my kids are all grown up and my base is still up in Yorkshire, but I’ve got flat in Swindon.
“Since the day I walked through the door, I’ve been happy at Swindon.
“Obviously, I would have liked us to sign more players but then every coach would say the same.
“The club has always been very supportive of me and I’ve enjoyed my time here so far.
