CHIPPENHAM Town progressed into the National League South play-off semi-finals following a 3-2 penalty shoot-out success away at Dartford on Thursday night.
Following a goalless 90 minutes in the play-off eliminator at the Princes Park Stadium, neither team could find a way past former Swindon Town goalkeepers Will Henry or Reice Charles-Cook in extra-time either.
The lack of successful strikes was all the more surprising after the pair of league contests produced 12 goals in total - Chippenham winning one 4-2 and drawing the other 3-3.
A tough night for the strikers continued as the first three penalties in the shoot-out also failed to find the back of the net courtesy of saves.
Tom Mehew finally scored for Chippenham, but after Kristian Campbell replied for Dartford, Danny Greenslade saw his penalty kept out to wipe out the advantage.
Jordan Greenidge put Dartford ahead before teenage attacker Noah Coppin showed incredible composure to reply for the Bluebirds in front of 1,325.
As the Chippenham fans up the opposite end of the ground crossed their fingers, Olu Durojaiye's penalty was saved by Henry allowing Alefe Santos to book the Bluebirds' spot against Ebbsfleet United on Sunday.
Gary Horgan's men will travel to Kent at the weekend for a 3pm kick-off against the team which finished the season in third.
