SWINDON Town legend Paul Bodin has left his role as Wales Under-21 boss by mutual consent.
The Welsh FA confirmed that Bodin, who was appointed in August 2019, has left his position with immediate effect.
This comes a month after the end of qualifying for the 2023 European Under-21 Championship, where Wales failed to progress.
Wales finished fourth in Group E, behind the Netherlands and Switzerland – who both qualified for the finals in Romania and Georgia – and Moldova.
“The Football Association of Wales can confirm that Paul Bodin has left the role of Cymru U21 manager by mutual consent,” read a statement from the FAW.
“Bodin was appointed to the role in August 2019, after several years of managing the U19 squad and coaching in the age groups set-up, when Cymru qualified for the UEFA Elite Rounds on several occasions.
“Bodin’s first match in charge of the U21s was a historic 1-0 against Belgium, with Brennan Johnson scoring on his U21 debut at the Racecourse.
“During his time with the age group sides, Bodin worked with Neco Williams, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Ben Cabango and others who have since represented Cymru’s senior team.
“The FAW would like to put on record its gratitude to Paul Bodin for his commitment to the Cymru National Teams and wish him the very best for the future.”
