SAM Allison's headed winner six minutes from time kept Chippenham Town clinging to the coat-tails of the Southern League leaders, and condemned rivals Cirencester Town to another damaging home defeat.
Allison rose highest to convert Martin Paul's floated cross after Ciren had failed to clear their lines, to give the Bluebirds a 2-1 win they just about deserved.
The visitors were made to work hard for the points though, as Ciren enjoyed much of the second half, and but for poor finishing could have won it themselves.
Scott Lye fired Chippenham ahead after just seven minutes and but for the heroics of Matty Bulman in goal, the hosts could have fallen further behind.
But the second half belonged to the Centurions, and it came as no surprise when Paul Cochlin levelled with a towering header from Andy Chapman's free-kick.
Former Bluebird Nick Stanley should have put Ciren ahead when Chris Snoddy presented him with the ball, but somehow he curled his shot wide. And he was made to pay a heavy price when Paul picked out Allison for a late, late winner.
