CHIPPENHAM Town's National League South game at home to Oxford City on Tuesday night has been postponed.
Gary Horgan's men asked to call off the fixture on compassionate grounds after Pablo Martinez collapsed during Saturday’s match against Chelmsford City. A new date will be arranged in due course.
The defender, who spent part of the 2020/21 season on loan at Oxford City, went into cardiac arrest midway through the first half against Chelmsford.
Martinez was stabilised before the game was abandoned and the 21-year-old was taken to hospital by ambulance. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The Bluebirds are likely to play their next game away to Worthing on Saturday, however, with Horgan and the Chippenham squad set to meet up again as normal on Tuesday night.
