WESTLECOT teenager Kyle Anderson competes in his first national indoor championship final this weekend.
The 15-year-old Ridgeway student, who lives in Wanborough, has qualified for the last 32 in the under 25 singles championship.
He has been drawn against Ben Paulley from Dolphin (Poole) in the first round on Saturday morning at Loddon Vale.
The Basingstoke club are also hosting the senior singles and over 60s pairs finals alongside the first block of ladies national finals.
To reach the latter stages of the under 25 championship at Loddon Vale, Anderson won the Area 16 final when defeating North Wilts Wayne Snook, three years his senior, 2-1 in a tie breaker.
He won the first set 11-1 but lost the second to Snook 10-7 to send the match into a tie breaker and best of three end decider.
To win through to the last 32 of the under 25 championship at such a young age is a fine achievement and Anderson can only benefit greatly from the experience where he will be pitted against some junior England internationals.
