SCOTT Lindsey was not only delighted with his Swindon Town's 1-0 victory away to Doncaster, but also the manner in which they got it.

Saturday's game was mostly controlled by Town, the home side struggled to create anything of significance with their lack of posession and Swindon's relentless pressing.

On Thursday, the head coach reiterated that it would be too soon for supporters to see the "finished product" of his side.

However, after securing back to back wins for the first time this campaign, it seems Town may have perhaps turned a leaf after there lacklustre start.

Speaking after his side's victory at the Eco-Power Stadium, Lindsey expressed his delight at his squad being on the same wavelength as himself  this early on.

"The players have really bought into how we want to play as a team"

"We work extremely hard in terms of how we want to play throughout the week and to witness it at a tough place like Doncaster of course its very pleasing"

Although it was a game with a lack of clear cut chances for both sides, Town finished the match with 57 per cent possession, a statistic Lindsey is pleased with.

"We're always going to try be possession based, thats something we wont come away from," he said.

"I'm not too disappointed by the fact we've not peppered the goal, because we were so controlling the oppenent will tire out."

Despite the impressive turnaround in form in recent games, Lindsey remains realistic as he looks to take his side up the table.

"I know theres going to be bumps on the road, we have to be realistic," he said.

"As long as we keep moving forward and working hard, that is all I can ask from the players, they've been outstanding."

With momentum building amongst the camp and supporters, Town have another busy week ahead with Plymouth in the Papa Johns Trophy on Tuesday and then Lindsey's side will travel to Grimsby for another away game Sky Bet League Two.

According to the head coach, the positive atmosphere in the changing room can only bode well for the players performances on the pitch.

He said: "It can only give us confidence moving forward."

"I spoke to the players after the match and told them we're a good side and I've always felt that.

"I think wins like these will make those players begin to believe that too, so its hugely important."
