SWINDON Town head coach Scott Lindsey has been nominated for September’s League Two Manager of the Month award.
Lindsey led Swindon to 10 points from a possible 12 following wins over Doncaster Rovers, Grimsby Town, and Sutton United.
Only a frustrating 0-0 draw with Gillingham prevented the 50-year-old from equalling Northampton Town boss Jon Brady and Leyton Orient's Richie Wellens' respective 100 per cent records.
Following a sobering 3-0 reverse away to Harrogate Town on the opening day of the season, Lindsey had led the Robins on a nine-game unbeaten streak prior to Saturday's 2-1 loss at home to Brady's Northampton.
Brady's side has chained five victories in succession and reduced the gap to Orient at the top to just two points.
Meanwhile, Orient made it through September without conceding a goal and - until last weekend's loss to Newport County - had only failed to take three points off Swindon all season.
Lindsey, Wellens, and Brady are on September's list of nominations alongside Bradford City's Mark Hughes. The Bantams boss also took 10 points from a possible 12 while instilling a passing style into Bradford’s previously direct play and introducing competition for places into the squad.
The Manager of the Month judging panel comprises of former Swindon manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies. The winner will be announced on Friday.
