IN Swindon Town Official Supporters Club’s latest column, the group looks back on two fantastic live events while highlighting a pre-match change it introduced as well as providing an update on its fan-group initiative.

Get in! What a brilliant result that was on Tuesday against Newport County. The second-half performance was faultless, and another brilliant goal-line clearance in stoppage time from Remeao Hutton guaranteed all three points for Town. After Saturday’s defeat, it was great to back to winning ways ahead of our crunch match with Stevenage on Saturday.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the OSC with two live events held in a matter of days. First, we had the Fans Forum, which was held on September 28. We teamed up with Trust STFC and The Sir Tom Broadbent Lounge to hold the event.

As ever, Vic Morgan did a fantastic job as MC for the evening, and our panellists were Clem Morfuni, Rob Angus, Sandro Di Michele, and Scott Lindsey. The event was live streamed on Twitter by the team from TSTBL and if you missed it, is available on playback from the TSBL channel on YouTube. No questions were off limits, and there were some informative answers on a range of subjects including transfer fees and playing out from the back.

On Monday this week, we held a Monday Night Panel Live! event which raised over £500 for two charities - Down's Syndrome Association and Gig Buddies Cymru. Joining Vic were two STFC legends in Christian Roberts and Lee Peacock. Again, this was a great event and both ex-players gave very honest answers – both talking openly about some of the challenges they’ve faced during their playing careers and after they hung up their boots. If you missed this event, we’ve got some more lined up soon – watch this space!

You may have noticed before the Northampton Town game that there was a fantastic guard of honour provided by some of the youngsters from STFC Community Foundation. We were delighted to be able to purchase the flags that they were so proudly waving, and we think this really adds to the match-day experience!

Finally, a quick update on our fan-group initiative. We are looking for volunteers to help us set up local fan group hubs - designed to help fans get together within their local area and maybe share lifts to matches or possibly arrange local fans forums. We have just launched our first fan group in the Pewsey, Marlborough and Devizes area. Please get in touch with us at admin@stfc-osc.com if you want to get involved or require any further information.

Onto Stevenage away then. Safe travels to all those going – and make sure you bring the noise! Come on you Reds!
