SWINDON Town Official Supporters Club look back on the club's statement victory over Mansfield Town and share exciting news about a Monday Night Panel - On the Road event.

Swindon made a statement to the rest of League Two on Saturday with their five-goal demolition of promotion contenders Mansfield. To put five past a team which had only lost once in 12 months was astonishing and a privilege for all those that travelled to Nottinghamshire.

It really feels like this could be a pivotal point in our season when everything is starting to click into place. It’s still early days, but the Jacob Wakeling and Luke Jephcott combination very much has the same feel as Jerry Yates and Eoin Doyle. Plus, a pair of goal-scoring strikers is one of the necessities for a promotion-winning team.

If you fancy a trip down memory lane to remember those glory days from the Richie Wellens championship-winning season, then hop over to our YouTube channel and watch the interview from earlier this week with Michael Doughty. I don’t think there’s ever been a more articulate footballer, and Vic Morgan spent over an hour talking about Michael’s fond memories of Swindon and some of his personal highlights – including that panenka penalty at MK Dons! We recently had Danny Wilson chatting to Vic, and next week we’ve got Anthony Grant – AKA The General – which should be entertaining.

In our last article, we talked about the Fan Group hubs that the OSC is trying to organise. We have our first hub now established in the Pewsey, Marlborough and Devizes area, and we’re using this to help organize our first ever Monday Night Panel - On the Road event. This will take place from 6:30pm on November 14 at Marlborough Town Football Club. Admission is free to all – not just OSC members – they’ll also be a social event afterwards. Come on down if you’re in the area!

As you may know, the OSC has international supporters groups in Australia, Norway and Brazil which is a great way of spreading the Swindon Town message around the world. We’re now looking to start an affiliated group for the HM Armed Forces and Veterans – watch this space for more information.

The magic of the FA Cup starts again on Saturday with an away tie at Stockport County. Having played the Hatters already this season in a game we should probably have won, we think the tie is one Swindon can win. If we do, we’ll be one match closer to the excitement of the third round, and we all know what happened last season… COYR!
